The curiously named Fairies Chest is a collection of large boulders on the edge of Barden Moor, just north of Crookrise. It's not very extensive, but there are a handful of good problems. This combined with its proximity to Crookrise and Hellifield Crag makes it well worth a visit.
There are two groups of boulders - the main area next to the path, and a smaller group a few hundred yards to the east.
The Main Boulders
The most striking boulder here is the huge rectangular block with a sharp arete. There is another, bigger boulder nearby, with a mini-edge behind them.
Topo Unnamed Boulder
This huge boulder has a fine arete facing the path, with a smooth quarried wall to its left and a long blank wall to its right.
